Quad bike enthusiasts and dealers can’t contain their happiness when ATV’s have been legalized for roads and highways, on certain types of ATV’s that is. Nevertheless, a road legal quad bike has spun so much attention that made it even more popular than motorcycles. The new lines of quad bikes designs and features are slicker and more fashionable than its predecessors. The build of these new ATV’s are eye-catching with cool colors and shades.
The repulsive side of this new transportation is also causing panic to parents worldwide. There have been many quad bike accidents in the past year and the power that the ATV’s have are being questioned. Parents believe that the 250cc quad bikes are too strong for such a small vehicle. But companies understand this concern. They have created ATV’s of various size and power that fits any age. A road legal quad bike is only intended for adults and teenagers 18 years old and above.
The solution is not to ban a road legal quad bike from the streets but responsible driving. Many vehicles are built strong and tough like SUV’s but accidents to the drivers of these vehicles happen too. It is how you take responsibility as a driver that can solve vehicular accidents and not to be blamed on a type of vehicle itself. But I also agree that a road legal quad bike should only be driven by a responsible adult. 18 year old drivers still have limited driving experience on public roads so it would be best not to allow them to drive quad bikes on the streets yet.
We have different views and reactions about quad bikes but it will all boil down into one important concern: How to educate drivers more about responsible driving? In driving a road legal quad bike, the driver must take all the necessary safety measures before taking it for a ride on public places. Quad bike brakes, safety kill switches, head lights and signal lights must all work perfectly before every ride. A great number of vehicular accidents are caused by negligence in the part of the car owner or driver.
Responsible driving, not just with quad bikes or ATV’s, must be exercised always. The road is not a safe place because of irresponsible car owners and drivers. If only people will take this responsibility more seriously, than road accidents can be reduced effectively. Let’s start with ourselves. Any driving experience can be a happy driving experience if we know our duties as car owners and drivers. Let us not rely on our insurance policies because it may assist us financially during road accidents but it can definitely bring back lost confidence within ourselves.
Impart the beauty of responsible driving to your kids at an early age as well and it will naturally grow within them as they grow older, turning them into responsible citizens in the future… and that is something we can all be proud of.
